Quiz Meisters Trivia FAQ's

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What does F.A.Q.s stand for?
Frequently Asked Questions. You learn something new every day.

Do I have to be a brainiac to be good at Quiz Meisters Trivia?
Hell no! Our questions and games are diverse and are designed to appeal to all different ways of thinking. My best advice is to bring a team of people that is just as diverse as our questions.

How long do the shows run for?
Our shows run between 2 and 2.5 hours, depending on the crowd size and the craziness of the host.

Will Quiz Meisters make me smarter?
Probably not. But it will make you a better lover.

What benefits do I get from registering as a Quiz Meisters member?
Well, for starters, you get to call yourself a Quiz Meisterian. How awesome is that?! Plus you get access to our Vault which allows you to see all sorts of Quiz Meisters clips such as bloopers, deleted scenes and classic old stuff that will never (ever, ever) be seen anywhere else ever again. It also allows you to enter competitions exclusive to QM members only. We'll give you the low-down on exclusive deals and discounts for different Quiz Meisters venues which you will be informed of through a monthly newsletter which will also keep you up to date with Meister news, and in touch with all things cool. Plus, you'll get to see Pete and Steff in women's underwear.

What's your stance on mobile phone usage at trivia nights?
That's a really good question, thanks for asking. Using mobile phones at trivia nights is like wearing floaties and peeing in the big kid's pool. Everyone will point and laugh and then hate you. Having said that, we do have a game called SMS Me that requires you to use your mobile phone. That, ideally, is the only time we like to see mobile phones used at our trivia nights.

PUBS & BARS

Do I need to pay to play Quiz Meisters at a weekly pub or bar show?
No! It's free! Free! Free! Free! Free! Free!

Do we need to book to attend a weekly show at a pub or bar?
It is recommended that you book, but it is not essential. Please make your bookings through the venue. Contact details can be found on the NOW ON page.

Can we win prizes?
Hell yes! Prizes vary from venue to venue but there are usually some big vouchers for first and second spot, four smaller prizes from games throughout the night, a Jackpot prize and a whole heap of novel crappy prizes (like a Jesus clock. Everybody loves a Jesus clock).

How many people do I need for a team?
There is no real set amount. You can play by yourself if you like. Ideally, 8 to 10 people generally works best, but Quiz Meisters can be a great first date too. If you have a massive group wanting to play, it is most fun to split the group into smaller teams to create fierce team rivalry!

Hey! There is no Quiz Meisters in my area! What do I do?
There isn't? Quick, go to your favourite local pub or bar and word them up about us.

CORPORATE & FUNDRAISER

Quiz Meisters provides everything needed to run the show, from an energetic and experienced host, to the A/V equipment, to the answer sheets and pens Ð we've got you covered.

What do I need to provide?
All we need for you to organise is a suitable venue, and the prizes.

How many prizes do I need to provide, and what sort?
The following are some suggestions for prizes at corporate and fundraiser shows...
1st Prize (team prize)
2nd Prize (not essential)
3rd Prize (not essential)
Booby Prize for last (not essential).

Rooftops or Flats - Individual
Name These... - Team Prize

The important thing to remember with prizes is to HAVE FUN. First prize should always be something worth winning, such as vouchers, wine, or a commemorative trophy. For the other prizes - get creative! You could take donations of prizes, give books or chocolate, or even go to the $2 shop and pick up some booby prizes.

Can the host play DJ once the show's over?
Yes, all our hosts come equipped with a large repertoire of music that they will play throughout the show. If you would like them to stay beyond the end of the show there will be an additional cost of $100 per hour.

Are there any extra costs we may incur along the way (travel exp. and extra host time)?
The price we charge covers payment for your host. Their payment is for the standard show and their set-up time approx 3.5 hrs). There will be extra charges for distance travelled beyond 100km, and extra time for which the host is required at a rate of $100 per hour.

Do all of the Quiz Meisters characters come and perform on the night?
No. No, they do not. You will, however, see many of our characters in our AV segments throughout the night.

Can we make changes to the running sheet?
Changing the format of the show is just like tailoring the show and may incur extra costs.
